Painting with Coffee at Our Atelier
Coffee carries warmth and energy into any space. In this workshop, it became the starting point for a creative session where colors, textures, and senses worked together.
Smell
Freshly brewed coffee filled the atelier from the first moment. Its aroma gave focus and comfort while people worked.
Taste
Cups of coffee were shared during the session. The flavor set the rhythm for breaks between layers of paint.
Hearing
Grinding beans, water pouring, brushes moving, quiet voices — these sounds created the background of the class.
Sight
The palette began with deep browns of roasted beans, golden tones of espresso crema, and soft beige shades. These colors shaped the mood of each canvas.
Touch
Participants used wooden sticks and brushes to apply thick layers of paint. The surfaces grew rich and uneven, echoing the feel of coffee grounds and smooth liquid. Drops of real coffee were added to stain the canvas, and grains of salt scattered on wet paint created delicate textures as they dried.Touch
The result
Each participant left with a textured coffee-inspired painting. Some chose steaming cups, others worked with abstract layers in earthy shades. Every canvas carried a trace of aroma, taste, and movement from the day.
Our coffee painting workshops, led by Ukrainian artist Liudmyla Makey, often begin with a quiet coffee ceremony — a chance to pause, to connect, and to begin with intention.
Whether you paint a bird, a flower, or something abstract, you’re invited to tell your story, your way.
