This painting began with a photograph taken by a family member during the Christmas season of 2022. The image stayed with me for a long time, almost asking to be transformed onto canvas. When I finally started, I worked in layers of oil paint, each one drying for a week or two before I added the next. That patient rhythm became part of the work itself.
Although it was created more than three years ago, the colours remain vivid and bright, carrying the same warmth that first drew me in. The scene is simple—a bicycle with wildflowers, a ladder resting nearby, a sunlit wall—but it holds the feeling of Puglia at Christmas, where even ordinary details seem touched by timeless beauty.
For me, this painting is both a memory and a reminder: to pause, to notice small details, and to carry the glow of special moments with us.
This painting was first publicly exhibited at the Exhibition “Ukraine. War. Resilience” on 26-29 August 2025, Europa House Kosova, Prishtina
